Phenomenal Women Inc.

Phenomenal Women Inc. (PWI) is a non-profit community organization whose mission is to provide women of diverse backgrounds the opportunity to engage in community service that will enrich their lives, as well as the lives of others. Our organization serves senior citizens and under-served women and children whenever there is need.

Since its founding in 1997, members have donated their time, money, and talents to local and national organizations. Our partnerships have included Isabelle Ridgeway Care Center, National African American Read-In, Wings of Hope Foundation, Angel Tree Prison Fellowship Ministry and Save Our Adolescents from Prostitution (S.O.A.P.). In addition to community service, our club programming and activities include Kwanzaa celebrations, book discussions, travel excursions, film screenings, diversity lectures, women’s empowerment events, and stage productions.

We believe fundraising should also be “fun”. Our social gatherings, volunteerism, and charity happy hours welcome people from all walks of life and give us a chance to support and network as a community of women who have a passion for helping others.

Phenomenal Women Inc. supports the dreams of every young person who seeks a college degree. The Althea Jackson Educational Scholarship commemorates founding member, Althea Jackson. To date, over $10,000 in scholarship funding has been awarded to CCS high school graduates in honor of Mrs. Althea Jackson.

Each spring, Phenomenal Women Inc. recognizes a local woman who fulfills its mission through her community service and outreach. This woman is recognized at the Phenomenal Woman of the Year Award Signature Luncheon held in April.
